Dr. Mazumder earned his bachelor and master degrees in Economics from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, and a Ph.D. in Financial Economics from the University of New Orleans.
Dr. Mazumder taught at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (Bangladesh), Auckland University of Technology (New Zealand), and SUNY Polytechnic Institute before joining at St. Ambrose University in Fall 2011. Dr. Mazumder has teaching interests in investment and portfolio analysis, financial institutions and markets, and corporate finance.
Dr. Mazumder has presented numerous papers in internationally-recognized conferences such as Financial Management Association (including its top 10% paper session in 2006), Southern Finance Association, Mid-West Finance Association, Eastern Finance Association, Northern Finance Association, Australian Banking and Finance Conference, New Zealand Finance Colloquium, Academy of Financial Services etc. He also presented papers at Berry College, Auckland University of Technology, Missouri Western State University, Utah Valley University, Ohio Northern University, University of Alaska at Anchorage, Weber State University, University of Wisconsin at Whitewater, Otterbein University, SUNY Polytechnic Institute, St. Ambrose University, and University of the Pacific.
His research interests are in investment and portfolio management, market anomalies, and international finance. His research articles were published in many refereed journals including Journal of Business Finance & Accounting, Journal of Index Investing, Financial Services Review, Managerial Finance, Studies in Economics and Finance, International Review of Financial Analysis, Applied Finance Letters, Journal of Financial Regulation and Compliance, among others.
Besides his teaching experiences in three different continents (Asia, Australia, North America), Dr. Mazumder also has industry experiences from a commercial bank and a non-government organization that distributes micro-credit to poor women in Bangladesh.
